Dance Troupe

April 2007: for the first time we entered students into the singing and dancing sections of the annual competition, Festival4Stars. This is the biggest UK talent contest open to all ages and most of Prima's students reached the Regional Final! An excellent achievement considering we are not a regular 'Competition School' and this was our first time competing in a Festival.

July 2008, the Kitti-Katz section of the troupe won 2 sections and the Dancing Dolls won 2 sections of the Durham Heat of Talent Quest. The competitors will now go to the national final in November!

June 2008: Charlotte (aged 15) reached the Regional Final in the Solo Dance section at Festival4Stars, Charlotte (aged 7) and Amber (aged 6) reached the Regional Final in the Duo Dance section  and our very own singing teacher won the Regional Final in the Adult Singing Section!!

June 2009: The competition was tough at Sunderland Cheerleading Competition, there were hundreds of competitors, all of whom attend regular cheerleading classes, except our troupe! We had prepared 2 group cheer dances for different categories and both achieved 2nd place! We also had two mums doing the parent's dance and they were awarded 2nd and 6th places.

June 2009: Prima did brilliantly at the Newcastle heat of the National Competition, Festival4Stars. We reached the semi-finals for 13+ Solo Dance, Group Dance, Group Musical Theatre and Star categories. A superb achievement at a top competition!

April 2010: The Dance Troupe was separated from the school due to time and staff resource constraints. The group continues to be run by our singing teacher and the older troupe members.
