
Emma-Jane joined Prima in January 2009. She has trained in singing for 17 years and holds Grade 8 in Singing, Theory & Musical Theory. She sang with the Welsh National Opera for two years performing a range of major roles and has won numerous awards for singing and musical theatre including Gold medals in Elocution and Prose performances.
She has attended
various training courses run by the Doly Carte. She has two years prior experience in teaching
Singing and Stage Craft and has also produced four amateur dramatics shows.
More recently, in 2008, Emma-Jane won the York heat of Festival 4 Stars (a top
nationwide talent competition) with the Habanera from Carmen. Following this
she was offered a record deal from Stuart Newton (who works with the Sugababes
and Rod Stewart) and was scouted for TV voice-over work!
In 2009, with the introduction of the LAMDA syllabus at Prima, Emma-Jane wanted to ensure that she was meeting all the required criteria for the exams before we entered any students ourselves. She put herself through Grade 8 - Gold Medal Musical Theatre (the highest level available) and achieved an outstanding 95%.
Emma-Jane is an Associate Member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) and also has Instructor Qualifications in Ballroom Dance (through the Cardiff College of Dance), Salsa (with the United Kingdom Alliance) and Aerobics. She has also attended a teaching course with the UKA for Cheer and is a Licentiate Teacher of the PMA.
